Treasure Hunt is one of Johnny's Overdrive Attacks in Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- and its update, which allows him to replenish up to three of his coins by stealing a precious item from his opponent.

Overview[]

Johnny holds his hat upside down and sheathed katana on his hand, holding them towards the screen, shining with a W$ sign. Then, he dashes forward, unsheathes his sword and slashes his opponent. Over his hat appears his enemy's treasured item, which imediately turns into two small lights that travel towards his coin count, and Johnny returns to his neutral stance.

This attack allows Johnny to regain two coins Ggxrd Johnny coin for his Glitter Is Gold special attack by stealing from his enemy. It can be charged by holding Slash. If partially charged, it hits crossup; if fully charged, it becomes unblockable, and replenishes one extra coin. Treasure Hunt can be performed while in Mist Finer stance or during a Mist stance dash; during the latter, Johnny launches opponents up on hit and is untechable.

Each character has a specific item, each having an unique icon in Johnny's coin bar.

Trivia[]

  • While Baiken's treasure is supposedly non-existent and something of a joke on her poverty by her itinerant status, with Johnny being a fellow practitioner of Japanese swordsmanship may imply that he knows what to "steal" from another samurai/kenjutsuka. "Nothingness" may instead refer to Baiken's calm and focused state of mind, with Johnny having likely stolen her pride from landing Treasure Hunt.
