The following page is an overview of Sin Kiske's gameplay in the Guilty Gear series. He is a playable character appearing in Guilty Gear 2 -Overture-, all versions of Guilty Gear Xrd, and Guilty Gear -Strive-.
Overview[]
Guilty Gear 2[]
Guilty Gear Xrd[]
Sin is a neutral-focused character with a high damage output thanks to his unique meter, the Calorie Gauge (カロリーゲージ, Karorī Gēji?). It lets him cancel all his Special Attacks into other special moves (e.g. Beak Driver → Bull Bash → Elk Hunt), but if Sin tries to do any move with an empty food gauge, he will be forced into a starving animation that leaves him open to the opponent's attacks. If he is running low on Calories, Still Growing via + refills a big chunk of his Calorie Gauge by eating a piece of meat.
Sin starts each round with the gauge partially full at 10,000 calories, although the gauge can hold up to 16,000 units. Every time Sin uses a Special Attack other than Leap or Still Growing, he loses 1,000 calories, and chaining into an attack that consumes calories will cost another 1,000. Eating is the only way for Sin to regain eter, so finding safe spots to eat at the end of combos or in neutral is very important to his gameplan.[1]
Guilty Gear -Strive-[]
Seen as an aggressive rushdown character with tools to close the distance and mixing the opponent up,[2] Sin's meter mechanic remained mostly the same since Xrd, although now it is called the Stamina Gauge. By properly managing it, he can cancel all of his Special Attacks (except for Still Growing) into follow-ups or into Gazelle Step, a dash that quickly closes the space between him and his opponent.
Not only separated into thirds (consuming one bar each time a follow-up is used), the gauge allows Sin to use unique follow-ups for Beak Driver, Hawk Baker, Elk Hunt and Hoof Stomp. Two seconds (one second for Gazelle Step) after spending a Bar, the Gauge will begin to gradually refill, filling faster the less Stamina Sin currently has remaining.[2]
Still Growing itself (now with a different command, + ) has been re-tooled so that it has multiple effects beside refilling the Stamina meter: it can also refill a tiny bit of health, increase his defense, increase his damage output, or increase his movement speed - what effect he gains from Still Growing depends on the kind of food he eats.
Voltec Dein is replaced by Tyrant Barrel; where the former was akin to Ky's Sacred Edge, the latter is directly inspired by Sol's Tyrant Rave. While the parent move is one standalone attack, Tyrant Barrel is separated into two: first is an initial blast of energy, then if the button is held after activation, Sin goes for the signature punch, knocking the opponent back.

- In the Xrd games, Faust's chocolate and doughnut items will give Sin 500 calories if he picks them up.[1]
