Guilty Gear Wiki

Savage Fang is one of Sol Badguy's Overdrive Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear XX via his EX regular form, and later on his default past self would have this as part of his arsenal.

Overview[]

A stronger version of the Gun Flame technique, and Sol's own parallel to Ky's Sacred Edge. EX Sol upon powering up with a brief Dragon Install-esque animation, jabs the Fireseal into the ground, unleashing a brief salvo of diagonally-rising flame pillars (up to 6 total), not unlike the graphics used for Napalm Death.

Unique to the Savage Fang however, is a property added since Accent Core that allows it to ignore the standard OTG physics, allowing it to be a powerful pick-up tool on downed foes to then juggle them right after on top of being a solid reactionary anti-air.

This attack is also used by Kakusei/Bousou Sol, where 3 extra total flame waves rise up in succession, with each cluster inching forwards a bit per appearance.

In the case of normal Order-Sol when he jabs his slab into the ground, he instead creates a diagonal geyser of fire similar to present Sol's Dragon Install-empowered Gun Flame. The properties of this attack change based on his Charge meter:

  • At level 1, Sol creates a single slanted geyser blast, exactly just like the aforementioned empowered Gun Flame.
  • At level 2, Sol creates 3 of the level 1 pillars in a row.
  • At level 3, Sol performs the version his EX present-self is known for, with the same initial Dragon Install-esque activation startup flash, and the same exact properties. However, it cannot ignore OTG penalty until Plus R.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of the few EX-form moves where the name is yelled out, though EX present Sol himself never calls out the attack by name unlike normal Order-Sol.
