Faust is a recurring playable character since the original Guilty Gear as Dr. Baldhead.

Faust is a spacing character who uses his long-range normal attacks and random items to keep his opponent at bay, misleading the opponent with tricky moves. A bizarre, comical character, he has access to many good anti-air attacks. He has straightforward combos and gameplan, but is difficult to master.
His signature move is What Could This Be?, a random attack that throws one out of a number of items at random that could either help him out, or even land him into trouble. Such an example is his bomb (its explosion creates a hitbox that can hit both his opponent and himself), or food items (they heal a small amount of HP, and can be picked up by the opponent). He can also perform combos out of them. His "W-W-W-What Could This Be?" Overdrive throws four items at random.
In Strive, Faust is a character that depends quite a lot on luck and is most effective from the mid-screen. He is capable of dodging and punishing whiffs more so than others because of his bizarre crawling (which allows him to avoid a number of moves and is hard to punish in general) and hitbox. He also gains the special move Snip Snip Snip, a command grab that gives the opponent an afro.
