Bao Saishinshou, formerly dubbed Geki: Saishinshou (激・砕神掌, Geki: Sai Shin Shō?, lit. Violent Crushing God Palm), is one of Jam Kuradoberi's Overdrive Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear XX.

Overview[]

Jam stomps her foot down, then does an uppercut palm strike that launches her opponent up high.

GGXrd Kaorinquen

Kaorinquen (カオリンクェン / 烤霊魂, Kaorinku~en?, lit. Kǎo líng hún/Burning Spirit)

In the Guilty Gear Xrd sub-series, Jam takes a low stance, then does a sharp backhanded uppercut-style strike while her back faces her opponent, her hand shrouded in blue chi during the strike. Not only does it launch the opponent higher, it also gains a follow-up called Kaorinquen - by pressing Punch after the initial attack, Jam does a rising strike as the opponent crashes down, with a pale blue Chinese dragon made of chi rising up with her; the button press needs to be timed properly, otherwise the attack will miss.

Trivia[]

  • Kaorinquen is derived from the Superman Punch, a technique used in Muay Thai, Sanda and Lethwei martial arts just to name a few. This style of punch is also used across other fighting games:
    • Street Fighter's Jamie has a loose version called the Swagger Step, using his palm instead of a closed fist.
    • The King of Fighters' Tung Fu Rue has the more colloquially known Sen Shippo; his student Meitenkun has a modified version called the Sen-Siss Hou, as well as Gato's Totsuga and Terry has the derived Burning Knuckle.
    • Melty Blood's Miyako Arima has the Arrow Fist.
